A few years back, I stopped offering La Gallina Matta linens in the shop. They have been missed! I get regular messages inquiring about them. I stopped carrying them because the super specific special orders consisting of different colors and shapes and in random numbers became too tedious to ship from Italy on a whim.

I’ve been wanting to visit Trace Mayer’s Museum Bees Workshop for some time and it just so happened that I would be passing through Kentucky, so this was my chance! Trace might be the most laid back individual I’ve ever come across, and as expected, a quick text and we were on our way.

In 1990, I sent out my first holiday card with a photo of 8 month old Hillary. Brookes joined in a couple years later, and then Jonathan joined the gang in 1996. Back in the day, I would take my own photos - a whole roll of film - to one hour photo, choose the best one, and assemble cards with ribbons. I loved the planning and executing of the project and looked forward to it...

I have not had many sales over the years as I just don’t have a lot of markup on a lot of my merchandise. Oftentimes the desire to have a certain artist represented in my shop, and just the idea of being associated with that high quality, outweighs being a savvy business woman.

But it feels like a good year to have a sale! Let’s do it!
