The Challenge

A do-tank event, not a think-tank event.

Economic statecraft—the use of economic instruments to pursue strategic objectives—is a defining feature of the contemporary global order. The landscape is shaped by intense U.S.–China competition, expanding industrial policy, and the novel use of tariffs, export controls, and strategic investments. Companies, not countries, are the chief agents in international economics—yet the private sector remains an underleveraged partner in pursuing U.S. economic statecraft objectives.

Summit Objective: Understand how to best leverage the strengths of the private sector—aligned with free-market principles—in service to the national interest; identify what industry and government need from the other to assure mutual benefits. This is a do-tank event, not a think-tank event.
