When the summer hits, we are ready to be outside. Whether working in the garden, playing in the pool or traveling and having adventures with friends and family. Of course, it is HOT and sometimes staying cool is a challenge.

Quilting is a sewing medium that is as old as time. From the beginning having bedding to keep us warm and cozy was the goal. Humans learned to stitch pieces of fabric together in Asia and Egypt in ancient times and that is where quilting began.
Today we still quilt. Often just because it is fun and memorable. We put love into our quilting projects and they get used and shared...

Sewing for any season or holiday is always fun. But sewing in the summer for patriotic holidays like Memorial Day, Flag Day and the 4th of July are some of my favorite.
We have many traditions of making outfits for the 4th of July for the kids and their cousins. Or creating simple home decor projects that we put out year after year.

It's camping season! Which means we get to be outdoors and enjoy nature. It is so fun and relaxing to be together with no cell service. 
I will say one downside of camping is trying to find a place for all our stuff. Or keeping track of things like keys, books, headphones, sunglasses, the flashlight. There never seems to be a good place for those items.

Planning a family trip can be so exciting. From booking the plane tickets, getting the car ready or deciding where to stay. It can also be a bit overwhelming.
That is why it is great to plan NOW for easy ways to make that trip run smoothly.
