My club plane (1967 PA-28-140) is cranking very badly -- needing to rock the starter to get it to pull through.

I'm suspecting the Concorde RG-35A battery, which is 4 1/2 years old. It has had a couple fairly deep discharges. Charged but "settled" no-load battery voltage is about 12.7. With starter engaged, fully charged, voltage is only about 8 volts at the battery ter...

We has an "interesting" failure with our shimmy dampener. We have a 1981 PA32R-301. Hello all, my new-to-me Cherokee 235 came with an S-tec 30 autopilot installed in 2003. I've not owned one of these systems before so I'm currently on the learning curve. The unit performs great in all roll-control modes (stabilizer, heading, lo/hi track), however I've not been able to use altitude hold. What's most baffling is the absence of any altitude hold mode on/off button...
