My club plane (1967 PA-28-140) is cranking very badly -- needing to rock the starter to get it to pull through.

I'm suspecting the Concorde RG-35A battery, which is 4 1/2 years old. It has had a couple fairly deep discharges. Charged but "settled" no-load battery voltage is about 12.7. With starter engaged, fully charged, voltage is only about 8 volts at the battery ter...

We has an "interesting" failure with our shimmy dampener. We have a 1981 PA32R-301. Our mechanic was checking on something not related but when he looked at the nose gear he saw the dampener had broken at the end of the piston (I'll apologize for not knowing the exact name of the parts). Hello all, my new-to-me Cherokee 235 came with an S-tec 30 autopilot installed in 2003. I've not owned one of these systems before so I'm currently on the learning curve. The unit performs great in all roll-control modes (stabilizer, heading, lo/hi track), however I've not been able to use altitude hold. What's most baffling is the absence of any altitude hold mode on/off button...
