Fishing at guntersville this week was like Jekyll and Hyde. When it was cloudy and rainy the fish were agressive and easy to catch. When it was sunny and calm the fish retreated to the deep and suspended. Monday we caught 40 and had several nice fish but when the sunny weather arrived our catch rate was only in the twenties though the size was even better than the 40 fish days. ...

Today was my first trip down to the lower Saint George checking to see if there were stripers in the river. I’ll cut to the chase and tell you that yes they are here not in numbers yet but there are fish. My real story is that after checking below the harbor I decided to try above since in the past that was the best early season fishing.
