Hello All,

I've recently become the proud owner of a 1985 BJ70. My brother in NZ sold it to me and I imported it into the UK. It was first registered in NZ and is mostly original, including the paint & decals.
It's the most enjoyable (very slow!) vehicle I've ever owned, and I love it!!!

Sending 5 Alloy wheels to Romania is proving more troublesome than it should be . Eastlines was recommended from that end but despite them having a UK depot nobody answers the phone and umpteen attempts to get their website quote form to translate failed .

Plagued by a feeling something isn't right , hesitant to rebuild or replace a steering box which doesn't leak or anything , relatively new knuckle bearings , new tie rods , I've trawled the web for months looking for some clear indication of the problem source or a test that might reveal it and I just chanced upon this vid which perhaps should have been my first port of call tho...

So I bit the bullet and dropped the rear axle out to get a full assesment of the welding needed to the axle mounting brackets and a couple of bits on the body.

As expected one mount was detatched and the other has cracked so they need to be sorted - it seems to have happened as the drain holes have blocked up so some larger ones will be made once repaired.
