Meeting the Triplets

I was called to compete in a match for the general manager for the developmental show. It was a match against one of the other wrestlers in the training facility. He was the one the GM wanted to see. He was better than me. I gave it my best shot. At one point, I snuck in a schoolboy pin. I got a two count before he kicked out. That pissed him off. From there he beat the shit out of me and made me tap out with a mean cloverleaf hold. I rolled out the ring and sat on the apron. My legs still hurt when I went to the floor. Other wrestlers went around and did their matches. Owen and Joseph won a tag team match. I groaned as it was clear I still had a long way to go before I could move up in the industry. As we were getting ready to leave, I was called over to the back office. The GM was there with the head trainer. "I really saw a lot of spunk in that big match, kid. I liked what I saw. You got something that can take you far." the GM said. He then slid me a contract. "You're a bit rough, so you won't be fighting just yet. I had an idea just now and I think you would be perfect for it!!" I nodded and signed it fast.

When it came to things like this, you did not say no. You said yes and did whatever was needed. This was an opportunity to be a legitimate part of the company and get a spot on TV. I lost the match. That meant that I was not a talent that could jump up to the main show. He did not like me that much. OPW had a good arena that they used to shoot the two shows. It held 25,000 fans. On Picric, the main show, it would be filled to capacity. About half of that would show up for the developmental show, Boom. It was then that I met the triplets. The idea was that there was going to be an attack on the members of the roster by a masked assailant. We were supposed to be the police and protect the #1 contender for the Television Championship. Knox, Jax and Rex were their names. They were identical triplets with the exact same stats. Those stats were Strength 4.5, Submission 1, Endurance 4, Technique 2.5, Speed 2, Diving 0, Tag 5, Charisma 1, Object 0, and Personnel 1. They had much higher stats than me. It was only in Submission, Diving, Object and Charisma that I was better. It was good.

Knox, Jax and Rex were happy to work with me. I was not a major asshole and neither were they. None of them had the opportunity to talk with me before. There were a lot of us there. All of them were NPCs. The 20 jobbers in the training facility were just like me, trying their best to be good enough to get noticed. Rhett Griffin was the one who got scouted. He was going to be the attacker. If things went well, he would get a big push from the crowd and get a match with the winner of the title match at the next PPV. People wanted to see villains get punished. Every week, someone would be found assaulted backstage. In the meantime, we would be the bodyguards of the current #1 contender until his title match. During their match, we will be taken out by Rhett. Whoever wins will be savagely beaten with the belt by the attacker. It would be then that Rhett will be revealed. From there, he will be the new #1 contender for the title. He would be part of a great rivalry with the champion. We would all be in the mix as the police/detectives on the open case. We'd take matches and do our best.
