Hello, I am a long time hobbyist and am somewhat active on the Facebook "discussion groups." I suffer from both from PAS and TAS. I also restore estate pipes, which I mostly hawk on eBay (ancho-9621), but every once in awhile in the discussion groups. I look forward to participating in this forum. Thanks!

I had a tin packaged in 2024. It was smoky from latakia, that was expected. And it was full of red virginia vinigery ness.

Tried a new for sale pouch on smoking pipes last month, and well its bizaare. No latakia flavoring, not even the bad flavor I tend to get, and no red virginia flavor. Its like I would imagine black frigate would taste without latakia or the rum top...

4th Generation 1931. A dark flake. Tin note a anice … sweet.

4th Generation 1989. This flake is dry enough to smoke without drying something that I find common for this blender. This was opened and jarred about a month ago and allowed to bloom. The tin note is typical for Virginia flake with an added natural dry fruit sweetness. I will begin smoking this tomorrow.
