In 2026 there are multiple softforks under discussion and especially proponents of one softfork proposal are claiming that a softfork attempt always succeeds unless it is actively opposed, even if the softfork only has support of a minority of the hashrate. Is it true that a softfork attempt will always succeed?

An online acquaintance sent me $5000.00 worth of BitCoin(BTC) to me in TrustWallet but am unable to claim, convert, or access the funds. The sender then informed me i would have to utilize Cashapp in order to convert the BTC to US dollars but would first , be required to buy $118.00 worth of BNB in order to complete the transaction. Does this sound suspicious?

I want to set up the latest Bitcoin Core version to mine a block that is valid after the BIP-110 is activated (two months from now). What are the steps to do at minimum? I want to make sure that a block is not rejected by the Bitcoin P2P network.

BIP-110 specification:

My problem is that I have access to my wallet and I am able to access it with Electrum because I have the passphrase but I somehow misplaced the seed.

Is it possible to decrypt/extract and obtain the wallets mnemonic seed string with said access?

Are there any data services which provide metrics that show how much of the transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain are to and from exchanges?
