BOSTON—The Orioles have acquired another reliever, right-hander Kyle Nicolas from the Cincinnati Reds, in exchange for cash considerations. Nicolas has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

BOSTON—In the top of the eighth inning of Tuesday night’s game, Gunnar Henderson led off with a grounder to first baseman Willson Contreras, who tossed to pitcher Tyler Samaniego racing to the bag.
