This has been a bad year for grey whale deaths. Nine whales have already been found dead on the BC coast. The whales are found to be emaciated.
Their food supply is failing them. There have been an increase in grey whale deaths since 2019 when 200 grey whales were found dead world wide.
The number of calves born is the lowest ever recorded.

They released 500 Sulcata Tortoises into the southern edge of the Sahara Desert in 2021. Five years later the results are noticeable from space.
