We drove to the Sasse Mountain Trail #1340 near Cle Elum Lake to hike up to Hex Mountain, 5 miles round trip with 1,400 ft of overall gain. We had lovely views and a variety of wildflowers on a sunny day. We only saw one other hiker and no motorbikes today. We drove up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park to hike over to the Switchback Trail and up to Klahhane Ridge, then down to the bottom of the Switchback Trail where we took the shuttle bus back up to Hurricane Ridge. Overall our route was 5 miles with 1,200 ft of overall gain. We had lovely views, lots of wildflowers and we saw 4 bears, fantastic hike! Views looking sout...

Iron Bear
We drove out towards the Iron Creek Trailhead at the end ofFR 9714 this morning, stopping about 0.25 below the trailhead to avoid crossing a stream on the road. Our route was 6.75 miles round trip with 1,830 ft of overall gain. We saw lots of wildflowers in bloom all along the trail and only saw 4 other hikers. Fabulous wildflower hike! Later this morning, we stopped at Blewett Pass to hike the Swauk Discovery Trail, 2.75 miles with 330 ft of overall gain. This trail is mostly in the forest with some views. We were happy to see the wildflowers in bloom, especially the bitterroot and Tweedy's Lewesia.

We stopped at Ingall's Creek to hike a short way to see the wildlowers this morning, Our short hike was 1.6 miles round trip with 254 ft of gain. The trail soon enters the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. We saw wildflowers from the beginning of the trail, there was a nice variety in bloom including lots of mariposa lilies. Some of our views along the trail.
